Trip West- Hoover Dam

We arrived in the Las Vegas area on Wed 05/23 at the Lake Mead Campground near Boulder City, NV.  We got set up and left to go meet Tom & Linda's friends Joel and Toby who they cruise with each year. Joel got us tickets to see Human Nature ( a group of guys from Australia who sing Motown) at the Imperial Palace.  They did a great job.  Then after the show we walked on the strip and went to the Bellarigo  to see the Flower Room which has all kinds of flowers.  Saw some of the sights on the strip.
Thursday was a run day, getting things done that we needed for our trip. Then Thursday night we went to Freemont St for the experience.  You can just about seen anything there.  While there Tom & I did the zipline on Freemont St.  It was fun, but did not beat the one at Icy Point Straight, Alaska.  The video above is of Tom and I on the zipline, hope it works.
On Friday we went to the Hoover Dam and the Mike O'Callaghan/Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge that was built to take the traffic of Highway 93 off the dam. Both are very impressive.
You can't see it but it was very windy that day.  Wind gusts at the bridge were up to 60 mph.

Part of the bridge just before you walk out on it.

Hoover Dam was started in 1931 and the last concrete was poured in 1935.

Part of Lake Mead that was created by Hoover Dam.  I believe Lake Mead is the largest man made lake.
This is a sculptor of a worker who helped build the dam.
 Another view of the lake.
Hoover Dam, the memorial bridge and the lake are very impressive.  It was very windy while we were in the area, but we had a great time visiting these sights, plus going to Vegas to see some of it while we were in the area.
